NEW DAIWA JIGGING REELS HIT S.A. WATERS.
The Kingfisher, exclusive distributors of Daiwa Rods and Reels has informed us that, Daiwa have to come to the party with a range of awesome affordable jigging reels. The new Daiwa Exceler and Seagatespinning reelshave extremely powerful gearing and drag systems that could "stop a truck".Being the same design as the Saltiga´s, these grinders are impressive both statistically and cosmetically.The Daiwa Exceler range will be available in 3 different
models, 4500E, 5000E and a 6000E.

The 4500E has a 4.7:1 gear ratio, is rated a 10kg drag, (although it seems to be stronger) and is equipped with 7 ball bearings. This reel take´s a 300 meter spool of 55lb Saltiga Boat Braid perfectly. The Exceler 5000E and 6000E both have a drag system rated at 15kgs with a gear ratio of 4.7:1. The difference between the two is the line capacity,
the 6000E model will take a 300 meter spool of 80lb Saltiga Boat Braid and the 5000E takes a little less braid.The Daiwa Seagate range is something to get excited about, with waterproof drag systems and an all round magnificent feeling about the reel.

Starting off with the Seagate 3500QD model which has been cut out of the same model as its big brother (the Saltiga Big Game 3500); This reel takes the light tackle grinder to a new level. The "QD" stands for quick drag as you can go from loose to lock in one revolution of the drag
knob. For a reel of such a size to have a drag of 6kgs is outstanding and it comes with a fast retrieve of 5.3:1. This little beauty is loaded with 7 ball bearings.

The Seagate 4500E comes with 8 ball bearings and a waterproof drag system. An ideal jigging retrieve of 4.7:1 and 10kgs of drag. Veering off the topic a little, 10kgs of drag means a weight or pressure in excess of 10kgs is needed before the spool will turn, it doesn´t mean the angler can wind 10kgs of weight without pumping up and winding down. Once again the 4500E will take a spool of 300 meters of 55lb Saltiga Boat Braid perfectly.

The 6000E is a magnificent big fish plugging and jigging grinder. With the line capacity to take on big pelagic fish and a massive 15kg drag system to stop GT´s and amberjacks, this reel will answer all anglers´ needs. The Seagate 6000E has 8 ball bearings, a water proof drag system and has a retrieve of 4.7:1 . Saltiga Surf

The Daiwa Exceler spinning range of reels were the pioneering reels for salt water dropshot fishing in S.A. and are still the leaders in this field. The Exceler range has extended into Bass with a phenomenal reel at a very affordable price (+ - R850). The Exceler 100H is one of twelve different bait casters Daiwa have to offer!
This sleek looking low profile reel has a fast retrieve of 6.3 :1, an anti backlash control, free floating spool, swept handle and 9 bearings to top it off.

There are two matching rods to pair up with the reel; both are cosmetically appealing as well as great value for money. The 6’6” Daiwa Exceler is a medium action rod and is a two piece. This rod is ideal for crank bait, spinner bait and top water fishing.
The 7’0” Exceler has a medium heavy action with serious “back bone”.
This one piece rod is a magnificent rod for plastic and jig fishing and is very well balanced.
You can expect to pay around the R650 mark for either rod.
